This Week’s Challenges: January 14 – 20 (OWPC, WW & CYW)

Week 3 is here! Check out the announcement/homepage and get your name on the participant list here: https://tourmalinenow.com/2017/12/13/color-your-world-120-days-of-crayola-2018-year-3/

Color your world is a 4 month long daily blogging challenge event. Each day has a new color theme based on a crayon color in Crayola’s box of 120 crayons. The challenge runs January 1, 2018 to April 30, 2018. The week’s colors will be announced via my ‘This Week’s Challenges’ posts each Sunday and you’ll have the following week to respond to those 7 colors as you choose. Post, daily, weekly, or anything in between.

Your contribution can come in any form – art, poetry, flash fiction, a tale of a miscellaneous memory – anything, the only caveat – it has to be inspired by the color of the day. You can join in every single day or simply post at your leisure.

Comment back on the weekly challenge post with a link to your contribution and tag your post #coloyyourworld and #cyw so that other participants can see what you’ve come up with. Be sure to follow #coloryourworld and #cyw in your reader as well if you’re a WordPress user.

Crayola has a new crayon color. Drum roll please… Bluetiful. It replaced the yellow shade, Dandelion. The name hadn’t been released yet, and only the chemical compound when I mad the the above graphic. But be assured, Monday, Day 1, the color is Bluetiful!

Color Your World 2017 Wrap Up

We made it through all 120 days! 4 months. Can you believe it?

Make sure to continue to check out the #cyw and #coloryourworld tags in your reader and the participant list on the home page to see what everyone has shared.

Thank you all so much for participating. I sincerely hope you had fun searching for and thinking about all these crazy colors. National Crayon Day was March 31st and Crayola announced that they’ll be retiring the Dandelion crayon. There will still be 120 colors, as Crayola will be replacing the Dandelion crayon with another in the blue family. How do you feel about that decision?

You’re tired of hearing this, but I’ll say it again. I know I haven’t been around much tho your blogs. While prepping and scheduling has gone quite smoothly I just haven’t had the time this year to spend time with each of your posts. I hope you’re not too upset with me and I will work on continuing to visit little by little. While I enjoy hosting, I do wonder if it effects your experience and your willingness to participate next year when I’m not as active within the challenge. Let me know your thoughts below – be as honest as you’d like. I’ll use your comment feedback and your answers in the below poll to find out how we should continue this challenge in 2018.

Here are my favorite images of what I shared to CYW throughout April. You can see my past month wrap ups here, here and here. What were your favorite days of CYW 2017? If you make a wrap up post, comment below with the link.

The One Word Photo Challenge is going strong and Weekly Weather comes back May 6. Feel free to jump on in.

Here are the blogs of all the 2017 participants!

Color Your World – Black

It’s the last day! Stay tuned for a full CYW wrap up later this afternoon.

The Color your World challenge will run January through April, for 120 days, with a new Crayola color topic posting each day. Join in daily, or post at your leisure.

Enter your photos, drawings, quotes, poems, stories, anything, as long as it is inspired by the color of the day.

Since this is a daily challenge, I will not have time to compile a link list daily for participant entries, however, (1) tag your post #cyw or #coloryourworld so others can follow along in the reader, (2) share your link in the comment section of each color post and (3) sign up on the home page. When you fill out the form on the home page, a link to your blog will be added at the bottom of that post – that way other participants can find all your challenge posts.
